tt romney. >> they have arrived in new york for the second debate of the presidential election season. after an intense weekend of preparations and practice, center stage will be the sports complex at hofstra university in long island. the debate gets under way in exactly three hours. our senior political reporter talked to both sides about what to expect tonight. scott. >> gordon, the town hall setting means the questions come from the audience. they will get somewhere around a dozen or more split between domestic and foreign policy. a lot of pressure tonight on both men. the president has been taking heat since october 3rd. that was the last debate. that is a long time and he will be looking to rebound. >> how do you feel about tonight? >> i feel fabulous. >> the president hungry for a rematch and redemption. mitt romney hoping for a repeat and voters anxious for round two.

out of a $150 ticket. >> $150 is outrageous. >> maybe, maybe not, the two members of the council introduced a bill to tame the uses of these enforcement devices that have brought at least $85 million into the treasury. >> at the same time, provide legitimacy to what we're doing. >> the bill would cut the fat in -- that the fines to no more it undermines the whole credibility of the program in terms of having the public believe this is about public safety. >> the truth is, since the cameras came in, traffic deaths have declined 80%. but do the fines have to be so high? the public reaction to cutting the fines? >> i think they should be as d.c. is trying to get money any

way they can. >> it is clearly not for safety. i think d.c. is dirty money hungry at the moment. >> the bill is the result of a task force that met three times. critics are privately saying that this bill could cost the city $80 million in revenue. the council has scheduled a hearing for monday, november 5th. price we're following a developing story out of college park where two university of maryland students were robbed at gunpoint. it happened at the corner of calvert road in princeton avenue. the students were out for a job when two people pulled guns on them. they were able to make it to a neither was hurt and the robbers ran off. police are hoping surveillance video will help them catch the gunman.

>> a man is under arrest after police say he murdered his sister. police say it all stemmed from a domestic dispute. the alleged shooter, a 59-year- old charles hamilton, was taken into custody at the scene. >> some of washington's biggest names gathered today to remember the life of former pennsylvania senator arlen specter. a memorial service was held this morning outside philadelphia. vice-president biden was there. speakers at the service said specter was irreplaceable and determined. he died from complications of non hodgkin's lymphoma. he was 82 years old. george mcgovern has been admitted to the hospital. no details have been released about his health because the family has us for privacy.
